This handcrafted Japanese-style tanto showcases the beauty of traditional craftsmanship combined with modern materials. The blade is forged from 132 layers of Damascus steel, created from alternating layers of 1084 and 15N20 high-carbon steel. Expertly heat treated to approximately 63 HRC, the blade offers excellent edge retention, durability, and cutting performance while displaying the distinctive flowing patterns that make Damascus steel so sought after.
The handle is crafted from premium curly maple wood, selected for its striking figure and natural character. Elegant black G10 spacers and caps provide a refined contrast, complementing both the Damascus blade and the rich grain of the maple.
Completing the piece is a matching curly maple wood scabbard (saya), custom fitted to the blade and accented with black G10 details for a cohesive and timeless appearance. Inspired by traditional Japanese design, this tanto is equally at home as a collector's piece, display item, or functional handcrafted blade.
